Thielen Scores 33 to Lead Warriors to Fifth Win

The Wheaton/Herman-Norcross boys’ basketball team posted a 67-55 win over Wyndmere-Lidgerwood on Wednesday night in Hankinson, ND.  The Warriors held Wyndmere-Lidgerwood to 19 first half points as they built a sixteen point halftime lead at 35-19.

Both teams shot 37% for the game, but the Warriors connected on 39% (11-28) of their 3-point attempts, compared to 23% (5-22) for Wyndmere-Lidgerwood.

Matt Thielen continued his scoring rampage by pouring in 33 points, hitting 8-of-15 shots from beyond the arc.  Dylan Bainbridge chipped in with 5 points and distributed 4 assists.  Nick Lupkes had 6 assists and 3 steals and Zach Braaten finished with 6 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists.

The Warriors forced 30 turnovers in the contest and collected 18 steals.  Wheaton/Herman-Norcross improved their season record to 5-1.  They will play at Frazee on Thursday, January 2.
