Wheaton/Herman-Norcross trailed 27-17 at the half but put together a solid second half performance to defeat Ortonville 65-58 on Thursday night.

“We fell behind because of early defensive miscues, and simply not getting the ball in the net,” said Head Coach Jordon Roos of the Warriors. “Second half we had a change of fortune and were able to force a lot of turnovers which helped get the offense going.”

Matt Thielen poured in 38 points, making 11-of-26 shots, including 7-of-17 3’s.  He also had 7 rebounds and 4 steals.  Clint Determan added 8 points, 10 rebounds and 4 steals.  Dylan Bainbridge distributed 10 assists, scored 5 points and came up with 3 steals.

Leaders for Ortonville were Zach Kuechenmeister and Owen Longnecker with 20 and 18 points, respectively.
Wheaton/Herman-Norcross (2-1) will host Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley on Friday.

Ortonville (0-3) hits the road for a battle with C-G-B next Thursday.
