The Willmar boys’ swimming and diving team hosted Fergus Falls in a Central Lakes Conference meet on Thursday with the Cardinals posting a 111 to 66 victory.

Top performances for the Otters came from Noah Osborn with a second in the 200 freestyle (2:01.71) and a second in the 100 freestyle (53.98), Will Pawlowski with a second in the 200 IM (2:23.25) and a second in the 100 backstroke (1:04.46), Sean Edman with a runner-up finish in the 50 freestyle (24.07) and a third in the 100 butterfly (1:08.15), Christian Reed with a runner-up finish in the 500 freestyle (5:48.05) and Steven Wohlenhaus with a third place finish in the 100 breaststroke (1:16.84).

“The boys competed hard tonight,” said Head Coach Randy Hansen of the Otters.  “We are very young and inexperienced so there will be some growing pains.  We learned a lot about what it takes to compete in the CLC, especially on the road.  I was proud of how they did not back down from the challenge.  Sean Edman had a nice time drop in the 50 free and swam fly for the first time ever.  Ryan Aanerud also turned in a season best time in the 100 back.”

The next meet for the Otters is Tuesday, December 17 against Brainerd.
