Minnesota High School Bowling team competition has wrapped up for 2019 with the All-Conference/Future Stars, and State Tournaments held over the past two weekends.

The Otter varsity, Zach Kort, Atlanta Goulet, Jasmine Benjamin, Kaitlyn Krensing, Keisen Wick, and Dylan Obowa, took fourth place in the MHSB Class A State Tournament on Sunday at Garden Center in Alexandria.  The Otters bowled well all day at the 24-team tournament, finishing as the number four seed after the first-round, ten-game qualifier.  They cruised through the second-round pool-play, earning the number two seed for the final elimination bracket.  The Otters defeated Kasson-Mantorville, 401-376, in the first two-game total-pin match, and moved on to the semi-final against Princeton/Milaca.  Fergus Falls trailed by just four pins after the first game, but Princeton/Milaca came out firing in the second game, starting with the first seven strikes.  After a shaky start, the Otters came back with seven-in-a-row of their own to make a match out of it, but fell to Princeton/Milaca 415-431.  St Croix Lutheran defeated Fergus Falls for third-place, and Princeton/Milaca downed Winona/Lewiston-Altura in the championship match.  Obowa (92%) and Krensing (88%) led the team in fill-percentage for the tournament.

The Varsity All-Conference Tournament was held on Saturday, November 30, at AMF Southtown in Bloomington.  Bowlers representing the West Central (North) Conference first team from Fergus Falls were Dylan Obowa, Kaitlyn Krensing, and Keisen Wick, along with Joe Skinner (Detroit Lakes), and Chase Keskitalo and Cale Rudolph from New York Mills.  On team two, it was Jasmine Benjamin and Zach Kort from Fergus Falls, with Elliott Beevor, (Bemidji), John Holman (Wadena Area), and Hunter Cooley and Jace Rudolph from New York Mills.  Obowa (88%) and Wick (83%) were team-high for the first team, and Kort (81%) led the way for team two.

The Future Stars Tournament is for the top 7th and 8th grader bowlers.  Bowling for West Central (North) Conference team one was Alayna Price, Sara Johnson, Alex Benjamin, and Myia Krensing from Fergus Falls, and Hunter Julin from Bemidji.  Bowling for team two was Kaydence Knutson, Kendra Koep, Nolan Korby, and Andrew Muchow from Fergus Falls, and Mason Graves from Bemidji.  Julin (55%) and Johnson (53%) led the way for team one, with Graves (58%) and Muchow (56%) setting the pace for team two.

Otters Dylan Obowa, Keisen Wick, Kaitlyn Krensing, and Jasmine Benjamin have qualified for the MHSB State Singles Tournament, which will be held on Saturday, December 14, at Blainbrook Bowl, in Blaine.
