The West Central Area Lady Knights traveled to Lake Park to take on the Raiders on Saturday night.  The game was a battle throughout the first half and the Raiders clung to a 35-33 lead.  The second half was more of the same and a mini-run late in the game by the Raiders sealed the deal, with the final score being 71-62 in favor of Lake Park - Audubon.

The Lady Knights were led by Lexi Bright with 26 points, 10 steals, 3 rebounds and 2 assists.  Brynn Fernholz scored 13 points, grabbed 4 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 assists.  Claire Stark chipped in 9 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals.  Elizabeth Rustan had 4 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists.  Hailey Bennett 4 points, 4 assists, 2 steals and a rebound.  Kaylyn Ulrich scored 4 points, pulled down 6 rebounds, stole the ball 3 times and added an assist. Kennedy Ulrich had 2 points, 2 rebounds and 2 steals.  Teagan Nelson had an assist and a steal.  Halle Foslien added 3 rebounds and an assist.  Kaitlyn Hansen had 2 steals.  Brooke Anderson provided quality minutes with solid defensive rotations.

“We played too fast at times on offense and we did not have good floor balance tonight, but I am very proud of our effort and how we battled all night long.  We had some shots that we really liked, but they did not fall and when that happens we were able to adapt but not to the level we needed to be able to win,” Coach Eric Schoenbauer stated.

The Knights will have their first home game against Minnewaska Area on Tuesday night at 7:00pm.
