The Brandon-Evansville boys’ basketball team protected their home court on Saturday afternoon with a 69-39 victory over Battle Lake.

Titus Fuller led the Chargers with 20 points and Tanner Bitzan added 15.  B-E made 15-of-20 free throws in the game.

“Overall, I was happy with how we played today,” said Head Coach Trent Hintermeister of the Chargers. “We had 3 guys out, so our depth was a little on the slim side compared to normal. I thought we came out with high energy and played with a purpose. We had all guys contribute today and we are always happy to get a conference win. Now we have a couple days off before we play another conference opponent next week.”

Battle Lake was led by Riley Leabo and Brennan Amundson with 14 points apiece.

“We really struggled again,” said Battle Lake Head Coach CJ Peeters.  “Execution and following through is non-existent at this point.  We have an abundance of mental errors and we have not bought into what we are trying to or supposed to be doing.  The schedule gets even harder the next two weeks.  We have a lot to clean up before then.”

After starting the season with three road games, the Battlers now play three straight on their home court, beginning Thursday, December 12 against Parkers Prairie.

Brandon-Evansville will take their 3-0 record on the road next week with games at Underwood on Thursday night and at Henning on Saturday afternoon.
