“What a great early season basketball game,” said Brandon-Evansville Head Coach Zach Traphagen. “Both teams competed extremely hard and was a game that really could’ve gone either way. Very proud of our girls ability to keep their composure in a tight game and find a way to finish with a W.”
Mikenna Pattrin just missed a double-double, scoring 12 points and grabbing 9 rebounds. She also had a pair of blocked shots. Leaders for Underwood were Kayla Rocholl (14 points, 4 steals), Ally Johnhson (9 points, 7 rebounds), Brooke Hovland (7 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists) and Ceri Meech (7 points, 6 rebounds). Underwood shot 30% (18-59) on the night, made only 3-of-15 from beyond the arc and shot 45% (11-24) from the free throw line.
“It was a great Little Eight Conference game,” said Head Coach Brian Hovland of Underwood. “I think we did a much better job defensively but struggled to rebound and make free throws. When you have a game that was as close as this game was wire to wire each possession on both ends of the floor becomes ultra-important.”
