Hornets Win Opener in Rothsay

The Rothsay Tigers opened the 2019 season at home vs. defending state champion Henning.  Henning took a 40-24 halftime lead, however the Rothsay boys battled back to cut it to nine with 11 minutes to go.  Henning took control on the game from there, completing a 74-41 win. 

“We played really well in stretches,” said Rothsay Head Coach Taylor Fuhs. “Neither team shot the ball very well, but our turnovers and their ability to get out into transition determined the game.”

Rothsay was led by Colby Larson with 12 points and 10 rebounds, and Tanner Heier with 11 points and 4 assists.

The Hornets placed five players in double digits, led by 15 from Isaac Fisher and 13 from Tanner ArndtBlake Wallevand and Brandon Trana contributed 12 points apiece and Parker Fraki added 10.
