Brandon-Evansville boys' basketball team built a 49-14 halftime lead and went on to beat Ortonville last night by a score of 67-37 in Ortonville.

“I thought our guys came out with a lot of energy and focus for the first game of the season,” said Chargers Head Coach Trent Hintermeister. “Our first half wasn't what I expected. We shot the ball really well and played some solid half-court defense. We were able to play all our guys fairly equal minutes and see some good things from a couple new faces. It's a good test this first week as we have 3 games and 2 of them being long road trips. We will see if we can sustain the effort and focus throughout the week.”

Leaders for the Chargers were Marshall Riedel with 22 points and Titus Fuller with 16 points.  Kobe Reiland added 9 and Keagan Schiele contributed 7.

Ortonville was led by Peter Treinen and Owen Longnecker with 11 and 10 points, respectively.
