The Verndale Pirates fell to Swanville 66-40 on Tuesday night as they opened their boys’ basketball season.
Nicholas Mettler led Swanville with 25 points. He was joined in double digits by Jackson Thieschafer with 13 and Haden Chuba with a dozen.
Verndale was led by 17 from Jake Ismil and 10 from Dilan Orlando.
