The New York Mills boys’ basketball team improved by thirteen games (19-8) last season, finishing second in the Park Region Conference to Henning with a 9-3 record.  As the Eagles try to follow-up that season with another successful year they will have to do so after having lost a pair of 1,000 point scorers (Jonas Baune, Brady Bauck) to graduation.

“We are excited about the season,” said fourth-year Head Coach Jason Boe.  “We played quite a bit of ball this summer to get ready for this winter.  We lack a little size, but we believe we will make-up for it with our athleticism and quickness.  We should be a fun team to watch.”

Returning letter winners include senior Eli Olson, juniors Derin Gaudette and Isaiah Laudenbach, and sophomores Tate Olson, Breck Hensch and Jonah Johnson.  Olson will serve as team captain.

Coach Boe will be assisted by Josh Hendrickx and Ben Corson.

Boe says Henning is the conference and Section 6A favorite.
