The Underwood boys’ basketball team returns three starters from a year ago as Head Coach Evan Meece begins his second year at the helm. Ryan Hendrickson will serve as varsity assistant.
Returning starters are seniors Winston Heifort (Center) and Canaan Kugler (Forward), and junior Krosby Aasness (Guard). Senior guard Braden Thorson also returns for the Rockets. Heifort, Kugler and Thorson will serve as team captains.
Meece will be looking for varsity contributions from senior Tim DeVaney (Guard), junior Logan Nelson (Forward) and sophomore Izic Albright (Guard).
“Our team will be strong on the defensive end of the floor with a lot of length,” said Meece. “Working together on the defensive end will lead to scoring opportunities on the offensive end of the court. Returning three starters from last year will add a bunch of experience that will help us throughout the season.”
Meece says Parkers Prairie, Brandon-Evansville and Ashby are the top teams in the Little Eight Conference, with Henning and Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal being added to the mix in Section 6A.
