Long time Barnesville boys’ basketball coach Todd Henrickson stepped down after last season and Chad Suter begins his first year at the helm for the Trojans.  Barnesville returns two starters from their 18-10 team of a year ago.

Senior Hunter Zenzen (Post) and junior Adam Tonsfeldt (Guard) provide great leadership for an inexperienced varsity squad.

“We only have two players returning with much varsity experience, and with learning a new system it could be a slow start for this group,” commented Coach Suter, “however, they are a hard working group of young men, so I am expecting them to be playing some really good ball by the end of the season.  We also have some good younger players that might be able to help us out as the season progresses.”

Seniors Matt Samuelson (Post) and Blake Torfin (Wing), junior Joey Mark (Wing) and sophomore Kaden Zenzen (Post) are top candidates to fill varsity starting roles.

Tracy Hinsz and Jamie Nordick will assist Suter.

Suter says Perham is the favorite in the Heart O’ Lakes Conference, while Perham and Fergus Falls are his top picks in Section 8AA.
