A goal nine minutes into the opening period by Zack Simon gave the home team a 1-0 lead.  Bradley Walker and Jamie Bazil assisted on the goal.

The Cardinals pulled even with a power play goal by Joe Westlund at 5:46 of the second, assisted by Caleb Strong and Derek Pesta, however, Orono answered less than a minute later when Simon scored again, this time from Jack Anderson and Nick Mohs-Messerli at 6:33.

Mohs-Messerli gave the home team a 3-1 lead eight minutes into the third with a power play goal setup by Bazil and Simon.  The final Orono goal came from Gus Hendrickson at 12:22 of the third with assists from Bazil and Nolan Tichy.

Finn Grady came up with 18 saves for Orono, while Christopher Loken stopped 33 of 37 Orono shots on goal.
