Knights Hand Out Football Awards

The West Central Area/Ashby football team held their awards night on Tuesday, November 19 with the following awards given out.

Jaden Norby was named the Midwest Blue Sub-District Quarterback of the Year, Jordan Lohse was chosen Midwest Blue Sub-District Defensive Back of the Year, and Gage Staples was selected as Midwest Blue Sub-District Wide Receiver of the Year.

Norby, Lohse, Devin Stone and JJ Sabolik were named to the All-Section team, while Norby, Stone and Lohse were All-District choices.  Staples, Sabolik and Connor Nadgwick were Honorable Mention All-District.

The following team awards were also presented:

Most Improved Player – Brady Reeve

MVP Offense – Jaden Norby (574 rushing yards, 15 TDs, 615 passing yards, 3 TD Passes)

MVP Defense – Jordan Lohse (41 tackles, 4 INTs, 2 returned for TDs)

Outstanding Linemen – Devin Stone, JJ Sabolik
Up and Comer – Anthony Sykora (389 rushing yards, 6 TDs, 17 tackles, 1 interception)

Knight Award – Jaden Norby

“The Knight Award is given to the hardest working, most dedicated, most passionate, most excited about playing Knight Football that you can think of,” said WCA/Ashby Head Coach Nate Wood.  “This guy gives everything all of the time, both in practice and out of practice.  He doesn’t accept second best from his teammates and is a great representative of all that we are.”

JJ Sabolik was chosen to participate in the Minnesota All-Star football game.
