James Hobson led three players in double digits for Fergus Falls, scoring 19 points. Alend Alemadi added 16 points and Jonas Baune contributed a dozen points and 9 rebounds. Hobson added 7 boards and Nic Pearson had a team high 3 assists.
The Spartans hit 45.6% (26-57) of their field goal attempts, but shot just 24.1% (7-29) from 3-point range, while making only 13-of-24 (54.2%) free throws.
Lake Superior College shot 37.1% (26-70) from the field and made 21.4% (6-28) of their 3’s, while hitting 16-of-24 (66.7%) from the foul line. They were led by 16 points from Joel Bailey and 15 points from Jarves Hunt. Kenten Miller added 10 points and 8 rebounds. Their rebound leader was Branley Previl with 9. Hunt topped the charts with 5 assists.
M State, now 2-3 on the season, will host Northland Community and Technical College on Tuesday night at 7:00pm. The Spartans lost an earlier match with the Pioneers, 75-62, in Thief River Falls.
