Hancock earned its first berth in a Prep Bowl championship game following a convincing victory over Mountain Iron-Buhl in the first Class Nine-Man semifinal on Thursday, November 14 at U.S. Bank Stadium in downtown Minneapolis.
Senior running back Tyler Timmerman powered the Owls (13-0) with 240 yards on 22 carries and three touchdowns. He also had one reception for 61 yards that also went for a touchdown. He also scored another touchdown on a 75-yard kickoff return.
Junior quarterback Preston Rohloff chipped in 227 yards passing and three touchdowns, his lone scoring strike an 85-yard connection with senior receiver Daniel Milander.
Senior running back Dillon Drake powered Mountain Iron-Buhl (10-2) with 101 rushing yards and a touchdown.
Hancock piled up 514 (287 rushing, 227 passing) yards of total offense in the game, while Mountain Iron-Buhl had 339 total yards, with 203 coming on the ground and 136 through the air.
Defensively, Brandon Kellenberger intercepted a pair of passes and Luke Joos also picked off a pass. Dalton Rose and Gideon Joos led the team with 11 tackles each.
