Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley recorded a 3-1 (25-15, 25-15, 18-25, 25-16) victory over Brandon-Evansville in the Section 6A quarterfinals on Friday night at West Central Area High School in Barrett.

“Tonight, to get the win we would have to win the serve and receive game,” said B-E Head Coach Kelly Olson.  “We had times when our receive game was really good, and other times when it was not so good.  It really comes down to if we could be more consistent passing out of serve receive.  All night it was either perfect or it was us free balling the ball over.  That is a tough way to play. In the third set our passing came back to where it needed to be, and the score showed that.  Even in the fourth set we were doing a good job and then it went away again. We had our chances to stay in the match. We had momentum, but CGB capitalized on our mistakes. The kids played hard, we just didn’t have it tonight.”

Leaders for the Chargers were Bailey Schaefer (18 kills, 11 digs, 9/9 serving, 1 ace), Mikenna Pattrin (12 kills), Kailee Klimek (16 digs, 3 kills, 14/15 serving, 2 aces), Kristen Kokett (18 digs), Korrie Randt (8 digs, 31 set assists, 12/13 serving), Brittany Korkowski (5 kills, 5 digs, 10/11 serving), Boris Jacobson (12/12 serving) and Gretchen Bredberg (11/12 serving, 1 ace).
