Section 8AA Girls Cross Country Results

The Alexandria Girls won the Section 8AA Cross Country meet with 42 points.  Willmar was second with 49, followed by Rocori with 56. Sartell-St. Stephen (139), Bemidji (166), Becker (178), Monticello (192), Moorhead (195), St. Cloud Tech (295) and Brainerd (298) rounded out the top ten.  Fergus Falls was eleventh with 299 points.

“Our Otter girls ran excellent races on a beautiful Fall day for sections,” commented Fergus Falls Head Coach Niki Welde.  “Emily Nuss (19:54.2) led the team with an excellent sub 20 minute race, placing 22nd.  Karolyn Papon (21:23.0) again had a strong race running second for the Otters and finishing 57th.  Sierra Hatlewick (22:14.1) posted a season best time in her final race of the season, ending up 69th.  Ainsley Hansen (22:16.5) and Ellia Soydara (22:31.5) were next running right with the teams we needed them to and finishing 72nd and 79th, respectively.  Rebecca Schindler (22:49.3) posted a season best time followed by Captain Makenna Stenstrom (24:10.5) rounding out the Otter section team.”

Alexandria was led by eighth-grader Jaelyn Miller in fourth place with a time of 18:54.0.  Aleah Miller (18:54.6) was sixth, Emma Ecker (18:58.8) was eighth, Bethany Miller (19:13.7) finished tenth and Giselle Jahner (19:25.9) was fourteenth.  Heavyn Bordak (19:50.1) and Caitlin Bright (20:03.7) completed the Cardinals team.

Rocori eighth-grader Katelyn Motter (18:34.2) was the individual champion.  She will be joined at state by her eighth-grade teammate Paige Larsen (18:54.4) who placed fifth, Moorhead senior Taylor Melton (18:46.8), Sartell-St. Stephen junior Ingrid Buiceag-Arama (19:14.8) and senior Lexi Dehmer (19:24.1) of Becker.
