The Otters took a 12-0 first quarter lead on a 16 yard pass from Ethan Olson to Cody Norgren and a 15 yard run by Jacobs.  They increased that lead to 19-0 in the second quarter when Jacobs scored on a 2-yard run and Andrew Starzl added an extra point kick.  Julian Benson got the Greenwave on the board with a one-yard run and the extra point kick put the halftime score at 19-7, Otters.

After a scoreless third quarter the Otters brought the lead to 25-7 on a 33-yard run by Jacobs.  Sam Votava connected with Nathan Willett on touchdown passes of 20 and 73 yards, however, East Grand Forks came up five points short.

“This was a good battle,” said Fergus Falls Head Coach Steve Olson.  “We had lots of ups and downs in the game, kind of like we did last week.  “Had a couple kicks blocked and a couple of turnovers, but our kids found a way to gut it out and come out with a win.”

Fergus Falls will play at Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton in the semifinal round of the Section 8AAA playoffs at two o’clock Saturday afternoon.
