The Rothsay TIgers traveled To Hancock to take on the top ranked Owls on Tuesday night in the Section 4 9-Man playoffs.

The Owls would start off with the ball on a cold windy night.  Their spread offense would take the field and run the ball down the field and score to take an early 8-0 lead.  The Tigers would also use their run game in their first possession but a fumble would give the Owls a short field. They would take advantage and finish the drive to go up 14-0.

The Tigers offense would get the ball to mid field but fail to convert on 4th down.  The Owls would score a few plays later to extend their lead 22-0 in the second quarter. The Tigers would punt two times in the first half and Hancock would score 2 more times for a halftime score of 38-0.

In the second half, Rothsay would start on offense but failed on a 4th and 3.  The Owls would pick up where they left off and score to increase the lead to 46-0.  The Tigers would get their lone score in their next possession on a 75 yard touchdown run.  The Tigers would also add a safety for a final score of 46-10.

“We had no answer for their speed,” Rothsay Coach Joshua Nordick said. “They are a good team and have a chance to go far in the playoffs if they played the way they did tonight.”

Rothsay was led by their seniors, Noah Fiedler, Ethan Curtis, and Nick Wiezorek.  “These guys played both ways all year and rarely came off the field,” said Coach Nordick.  “I am proud of how these players developed throughout the years and the attitudes that they came in with.”
