The Pelican Rapids Vikings ended their volleyball season on Monday night with a 3-1 (25-23, 18-25, 25-17, 25-13) loss to Menahga.

“The Vikings had matched up with the Braves early in the season and lost in four sets,” said Head Coach Heidi Isaman of the Vikings.  “We were excited to get another shot at this team for we knew this would be a good match up for us. The Vikings serve received the ball exceptionally well tonight.  We passed with one of the highest percentages we have all season.  Unfortunately even with all these great passes, we had a lot of trouble consistently setting and hitting the ball tonight.  We knew the game was going to come down to who made the least amount of mistakes and if we could get ourselves in system to get all hitter firing at them. Our back row did an amazing job of getting us in system most of the night but setting and hitting errors ultimately was the deciding factor to let the Braves take the advantage and the Vikings lost in 4 sets.”

Statistical leaders for the Vikings were Ryley Paulson (3 aces, 5 kills, 16 digs), Riley Berg (2 aces, 2 kills), Greta Tollefson (8 kills, 6 digs, 6 set assists, 2 block kills), Anna Stephenson (5 kills, 7 digs), Allie Haiby (9 digs) and Sophia Paulson (4 digs, 11 set assists).
