The Hillcrest volleyball team headed to Frazee on Monday for a Section 6A play-in game and lost to the Hornets in 3 sets, 25-9, 25-12, 25-22.

“Our slow start to the game made the match move along very fast,” said Head Coach Debi Foss.  “We only got to serve the ball 45 times.  We had a great start in the third match and led most of the way but then we slowly lost the momentum and just couldn’t finish it, another “almost” for the season.”

Molly McGuire had one of her best offensive games of the season leading the team with 5 kills, a 41% kill percentage, and serving 11/12 with 6 service points.  Madi Foss and Hope Adams each had 3 kills.  Maria Ruud led defensively with 14 digs. Madi and Mack Foss each had 10.

“As we wrap the 2019 season I want to say a huge thank you to our parents for their extra efforts while we were displaced from our own home court,” added Coach Foss.  “Also want to thank my assistants Patti Zwiers, Reese Ellison, Ashley Miller, and volunteer stats expert, Emily Christenson for their support, encouragement, strategy sessions, and willingness to work in our “developing” program.  Thank you Jesus for always teaching us in all circumstances and leading us to “Thrive and not just Survive.”
