Brandon-Evansville recorded a 3-2 (25-23, 20-25, 25-23, 14-25, 15-13) volleyball victory in Parkers Prairie on Tuesday night, claiming the Little Eight Conference title.

“We knew going into tonight's match in Parkers Prairie we needed to do two things, play through adversity and keep thinking next play,” said Head Coach Kelly Olson of the Chargers.  “The match was for the Little 8 Conference Championship.  We were looking to go 10-0 and needed to win tonight to claim our second straight championship.  All night the match was back and forth, except for set 4 where Parkers really dominated all phases of the game.  With teams splitting the first 4 sets it comes down to who can make a minor adjustment quicker than the other team.  Our girls did a great job of playing through the Parkers run in that 5th set, getting back to where it was side out volleyball tied at 11-11.  We were on the up side of the score at 14-13 and Parkers called a timeout.  Boris Jacobson was our server and she stepped up and served an aggressive ball, hitting the tape and going over.  We ended the match on a hitting error by Parkers, but it was the serve that set that up for us.  Another player that really shined tonight was Brittany Korkowski.  She had 12 kills and no errors on 26 balls attacked.  What a great time for her to step up because Parkers did a nice job on Bailey and Mikenna at the net.  They got their kills but they had to earn every single one.  Brittany gave us that balance we needed.   All of our players did some great things out there, and I think tonight they knew after it was over that the team is more important than any single player.  We are looking forward to heading into the playoffs and are excited to see where we end up in seedings Friday.”

Statistical leaders for the Chargers were Korrie Randt (44 set assists, 12 digs, 17/20 serving), Kailee Klimek (15 digs, 6 kills, 18/19 serving), Bailey Schaefer (9 digs, 17 kills, 3 blocks, 15/16 serving), Kristen Kokett (12 digs), Brittany Korkowski (10 digs, 12 kills, 1 block, 1 ace, 10/13 serving), Mikenna Pattrin (12 kills, 4 blocks), Haddey Zastrow (6 kills), Boris Jacobson (14/15 serving) and Gretchen Bredberg (16/16 serving, 2 aces).
