Brandon-Evansville made the short trip to Ashby on Tuesday night for a Little Eight Conference volleyball match against the Arrows.  B-E swept the Arrows 3-0 (25-14, 25-15, 25-15).

“After a long last week it was nice to get back into practice on Monday and get some things worked out,” said Chargers Head Coach Kelly Olson.  “Going to Ashby tonight we wanted to focus on strong serving and free ball passing.  With 13 aces and 31 kills in three sets, I think we did a pretty good job of that.  It was also nice to Maddie Otto move into the starting lineup with Haddey Zastrow being sidelined by sickness.  Maddie stepped in and did a great job for us.  She has prepared all year in case we needed her, and tonight we did.  The flow to the match was good with her out there and she did what she was supposed to, play solid volleyball.”

Leaders for the Arrows were Bailey Schaefer (14 kills, 1 block, 4 digs, 3 aces), Mikenna Pattrin (8 kills, 2 blocks), Korrie Randt (4 digs, 24 set assists, 9/10 serving), Brittany Korkowski (4 kills, 1 block, 12/12 serving, 2 aces), Kailee Klimek (3 kills, 3 digs, 20/21 serving, 5 aces), Boris Jacobson (15/17 serving, 2 aces) and Gretchen Bredberg (7/7 serving, 1 ace).

“It was senior night in Ashby and there is always a little more energy on the other side of the net when a special event is happening,” noted Coach Olson.  “Ashby stuck with us each set up that 12-13 point mark.  We seemed to take off all three sets at that point.  It is a credit to the passing we got out of free ball opportunities.  The players buckled down and took care of the ball.  Overall it was a fun night of volleyball and we are looking forward to watching some film, trying to get better, and preparing for Hillcrest in Fergus Falls on Thursday.”
