Rothsay hosted Battle Lake on Tuesday night in a Little Eight Conference match which the Tigers won in 4 sets (25-22, 25-19, 23-25, 26-24).

“Both teams played very hard tonight,” said Rothsay Head Coach Kim Braaten. “We had ups and downs in all areas, but were able to pull through and fight for each game. Jenna Fabre (16 kills, 18 digs, 1 block, 3 aces), Kenadi Carlsrud (13 kills, 17 digs, 2 aces, 4 blocks) and Grace Lider (10 kills, 5 digs) dominated the net tonight for the Tigers. Our back row worked hard tonight and was fun to see great efforts made to save points on our side of the net. The Battlers improved greatly since the last time playing them and really put up a great fight.”

Other statistical leaders for the Tigers were Jayna Gronewold (8 kills, 17 digs, 3 aces, 2 blocks, 26 assists), Summer Wigdahl (12 digs), Madison Tillman (2 kills, 7 digs, 2 blocks, 3 aces),

Lilly Wheelright (3 kills, 2 digs, 1 block, 1 ace) and Chase Balken (2 digs, and served 100%).

Battle Lake was led by Halie Johnson (10 digs, 7 kills), Ady Tysdal (11 digs, 7 kills), Kate Christensen (6 kills), Maleah Hull (5 kills), Makenna Tysdal (13 digs) and Grace Van Erp (11 digs, 22 assists).

“Rothsay played a very consistent match from start to finish,” said Battle Lake Head Coach Jenny Roisum.  “The Battlers had opportunities and leads in most of the sets, but struggled to maintain their energy and focus to finish.”

The Battlers host Underwood next Tuesday in their last regular season match.
