Underwood defeated Wheaton/Herman-Norcross in a high school volleyball match on Monday night 3-1 (25-14, 19-25, 25-22, 25-18).

“We are continuing to improve and played a solid match against a good team,” said Underwood Head Coach Diane Ross. “With a set apiece, the 3rd set was back and forth, with the score 19-20, Ally Johnson connected on a big kill, Wheaton then went ahead 21-20 when Kayla Rocholl got a big kill, it was back and forth and Kayla came up with another kill for point 25.   The score was tied 15-15 in set 4 when we started to gain momentum, we got some big points from Shaynah Smith and Brooke Hovland put away match point.   We passed the ball well and that opened up opportunities for our setter, Reese Richards, she ended the night with 34 assists.”

Kayla Rocholl led the attack with 15 kills, Brooke Hovland added 10. Ally Johnson was a perfect server at 15/15 with an Ace, she also added 4 blocks. Shaynah Smith added 3 blocks.  Defense was led by Brooke Hovland with 18 digs, with Brianna Evavold adding 12.

The Rockets are 10-11 overall and 5-3 in conference play.  They will face Breckenridge on Tuesday for their PINK OUT night.
