The Hillcrest Lutheran Academy Boys Soccer team was defeated by the East Grand Forks Green Wave on Saturday in EGF, 3-0.

“It was another very wet contest against the Green Wave, similar to the one here in FF, only much cooler,” reported Hillcrest Head Coach Rod Jensen.

After a scoreless first half, the Green Wave scored at 55 minutes to take the lead, and added two more later in the game for the win.  Senior Co-Captain Ethan Ness was in the net for the Comets, filling in for Zajen McArton who was unable to play.

“We were missing several starters today, so it was a great opportunity for some of the younger players to see a lot of varsity action,” noted Jensen.  “Brandon Babineau, Gabe Swedenburg, Ben Swelstad, Cole Peterson, Luc Senga and Juin Moon, all stepped up today and did a good job against our opponents, under tough conditions.”

The Comets, now 5-6-1 will await section seeding results on Sunday to see what their schedule looks like this week, although it is likely both the guys and the gals will have home games on Tuesday.
