Jack Aigner started the scoring when he broke free for a 49 yard touchdown run in the first quarter. Cooper Yaggie booted the extra point for a 7-0 Breckenridge lead. Hawley trimmed the lead to 7-6 on a Justin Koski 10 yard TD run, however, the Cowboys answered with a 15 yard TD pass from Yaggie to Tyson Piechowski and another Yaggie PAT kick, giving Breckenridge a 14-6 advantage after one quarter of play.
The Cowboys added a pair of second quarter touchdowns to increase their halftime lead to 28-6 as Chris Nieto scored on a one yard run and Yaggie connected with Jace Jensen on a 50 yard TD pass. Yaggie made both extra-point kicks.
In the third quarter, Breckenridge scored on a 33 yard touchdown toss from Yaggie to Jacob Vizenor and a Yaggie extra-point kick, making the score 35-6. Hawley then scored their second TD of the night on a sixteen yard TD pass from Cole Sunde to Sam Burkel. Derian Gerdes ran for the two-point conversion and it was 35-14.
The Nuggets made things a bit interesting in the fourth quarter when they cut the lead down to 35-21 on a TD pass from Sunde to Cole Matson, covering six yards, and a PAT kick by Burkel. Aigner tallied the final TD of the night on an 11 yard run and the final score was 41-21.
Leaders for Hawley were Sunde (7 completions, 15 attempts, 107 yards, 2 TD passes), Gerdes (23 attempts, 108 rushing yards) and Cole Matson (4 receptions, 61 yards).
Breckenridge was led by Cooper Yaggie (5-6 passing, 155 yards, 3 TD’s), Aigner (103 rushing yards, 7 attempts), Nieto (12 carries, 69 yards), Jensen (2 receptions, 68 yards) and Vizenor (2 receptions, 72 yards).
