Perham Boys Cross Country Invitational Results

Perham won their home boys cross country invitational on Thursday, scoring 40 points.  Bemidji was second with 66 and Fargo North claimed third with 88 points.  They were followed by Moorhead (129), Lakeville South (154), West Fargo Sheyenne (159), Wadena-Deer Creek (247), Detroit Lakes (267), Frazee (276) and Pequot Lakes (326).  29 teams competed in the event.  Fergus Falls was 18th with 488 points, Ottertail Central was 21st with 509 points, Pelican Rapids took 24th with 691 points and New York Mills was 28th with 917 points.

Perham senior Brandon O’Hara won the race with a time of 15:55.7 and junior Jacob Knodle of West Fargo Sheyenne was second with a time of 16:01.6.  Third place went to Bemidji senior Gage Mostad (16:07.7).  Perham sophomore Jakob McCleary (16:14.1) was fourth, followed by Caleb Yokom (16:15.2) of Fargo North, Bailey Evenson (16:23.2) of Perham, Sam Harmon (16:24.2) of Fargo North, Nathan Alto (16:33.7) of Bemidji and Moorhead runners Granton Schneider (16:34.2) and Evan Myran (16:36.2).

Completing the results for the Perham runners were Tesfaye Young (16:44.3) in 13th place, Chase Belka (16:50.6) in 16th place, Carson Hespe (17:02.5) in 28th place and Owen Werner (17:10.2) in 35th place.

Fergus Falls was led by Joe Eberle (18:01.8) and Luke Schroeder (18:03.1) in 76th and 77th place, respectively.  Conrad Lobb (18:40.5) and Kolsen Papon (18:41.2) were 103rd and 104th, and Zach Lobb (20:04.3) finished 147th. 

“Our boys had a personal record extravaganza in this meet,” said Coach Derek Meyer. “Each and every one of our boys posted their best time of the season. The competition was extremely competitive with the best teams and individuals in the state. Joe Eberle ran a very fine race and dropped over a minute from the last meet. Luke Schroeder continues to excel and drop his time for the season. Conrad Lobb had a nice race and time drop. Kolsen Papon turned in his best race of the season it was great to see him up in the race with Conrad. This race was a great confidence builder for coming in to the championship part of the season to start seeing our training coming together. In the middle school, Jack Welde medaled with a top 15 finish.  They had a great team effort with a 3rd place finish.”
