The Hillcrest Lutheran Academy Boys Soccer team was defeated by the Detroit Lakes Lakers on Thursday in Detroit Lakes by the score of 4-0. Three first half goals and another in the second half, by the Lakers, pushed the Comets into their third straight loss.
“We struggled tonight with DL’s speed on their big field,” commented Hillcrest Head Coach Rod Jensen. “Obviously it’s disappointing going into next week’s start of the section tournament with three straight losses over the past week. Senior Co-Captain keeper, Zajen McArton, was injured in the second half and had to come out of the game. We are hoping he will be able to come back and keep the remainder of the season.”
The Comets now 5-5-1, take on the East Grand Forks Greenwave Saturday in a double header with the ladies.
