Dale Skallerud Memorial Boys CC Results

Cool, damp, and hilly condition greeted the Breckenridge-Wahpeton cross team at the Hawley meet Monday afternoon.  D-G-F won the Dale Skallerud Memorial Boys Cross Country Meet with a score of 45, two points better that Ottertail Central at 47.  Breckenridge-Wahpeton was third with 60, followed by Lake Park-Audubon with 82 and Hawley with 113.

Rachel Gowin and Aiden Ruddy stepped off the bus ready to race,” said Head Coach Larry Lasch of Breckenridge-Wahpeton.  “Running aggressively the first mile Rachel finished 8th in the field of 30 runners with a season best time of 22:20.  Ruddy moved up 3 spots after the first mile to challenge the front runners and finished 3rd of 38 runners in 18:44.” 

Junior Perez also cracked the top 10 in 19:50.  Corbin Cornelius and Gus Lasch placed 16th and 18th, respectively in 20:31 and 20:35.  Jayden Wiertzema, Isaac Getz, and Logan Mammenga rounded out the varsity scoring with places of 23rd, 26th, and 29th, respectively in times of 20:56, 21:05, and 21:13.  Trailing Gowin in the girls’ race were the 8th grade duo of Hailee Bruce and Ashlyn Haire running 24:24 and 24:28, respectively to place 19th and 20th.  The remaining varsity girls, Grace Conzemius, 25:04,  Em Lisby, 25:23, Taylor Bommersbach, 26:16 and Ali Hoerer, 26:20  finished in places 24-27, respectively.

Hawley won the girls’ team title with 39 points and Kindred was second with 48.  They were followed by Lake park-Audubon with 72, Ottertail Central with 80 and Breckenridge/Wahpeton with 90.
