Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley picked up a 3-0 (26-24, 25-15, 25-18) road victory over West Central Area on Tuesday night in Barrett.

“The Lady Knights came to play against the Wolverines,” said Head Coach Missy Foslien of WCA.  “We led the whole first game and got to 20 before CGB inched their way back into the game and we were neck and neck.  It was a tough loss as we just didn’t finish it like we should have.  Instead of playing to win we played safe.  We were proud of the way we played though, and despite starting the second game slow as the Wolverines had the momentum going into the second game, we came back and played a tough third game.  Our blocking in game one was so on, we were relentless and it was such an exciting match!  Slowing down CGB’s attack line by getting touches gave our defense some time to get under the ball and we were able to create some great plays on in our own offense.  Morgan Stark (8 digs, 7 kills) played with great focus on the outside. She really had some great swings.  Hailey Bennett (5 set assists, 4 kills) came through with some nice attacks also.  The girls have really progressed since the last time we faced this team.  Our mental game has improved, the chemistry on the floor is ten times better, and they are having fun!  We are looking forward to Ortonville on Thursday!”

Other leaders for the lady Knights were Kaylyn Ulrich (14/16 serving, 2 aces), Kaleigh Anderson (7/7 serving, 1 ace, 13 set assists), Ellie Herman (17 digs, 3 kills) and Lizzie Rustan (7 kills).
