The Battle Lake volleyball team squeaked out the win Tuesday night against the Ashby Arrows 3-1 (25-18, 25-23, 22-25, 26-24).

“Ashby played great defense from the start which frustrated our hitters,” said Battle Lake Head Coach Jenny Roisum.  “The Arrows played aggressively the whole match and we did not play very consistent volleyball.  The Arrows had a lead in every set and the Battlers had to play catch up.  I am very proud of how the Battlers came together at the end and finished strong.”

Maleah Hull served 6 straight points with 2 aces to finish the match.  She was 26/27 serving with 6 aces and 7 digs.  Grace Van Erp led the Battlers with 9 kills and 8 blocks.  Kate Christensen dished out 19 assists while Makenna Tysdal had 22 digs.

The Battlers travel to Parkers Prairie on Thursday.

Statistical leaders for Ashby were Madeline Thompson (15/15 serving, 3 aces, 4 kills), Amelia Barry (18/21 serving, 4 aces, 1 kill, 20 digs), Cailey Schlosser (19/20 serving, 2 aces, 10 digs), Courtney Koefod (13/15 serving, 1 ace, 7 kills, 24 digs), Kalista Aamot (9/11 serving, 8 kills, 26 digs), Taleeyah Johnson (10 digs), Celi Nelson (11 kills), Halle Dahlen (8 kills, 4 ace blocks) and Anissa Heinrich (16 digs).
