Otters Host Girls Swimming and Diving Invitational

Detroit Lakes won the Otter Girls Swimming and Diving Invitational on Saturday with 585 points.  Fergus Falls scored 523 points to finish second and Thief River Falls was third with 442 points.

“Another Otter Invite in the books,” said Head Coach Joyce Monk.  “The Otters did great.  It’ has been a busy week for the Otters with homecoming activities and a Thursday Night meet against St. Cloud Apollo.   Today several best times were swam. The Otters swam impressively against two very good teams. Scoring 523 points takes everyone doing their part.   Congratulations on a job well done.”

First place finishers for Fergus Falls were Emilie Carlson in the 200 IM (2:27.43) and Aisling Cox in the 200 freestyle (2:17.54).

Runner-up honors went to Carlson in the 100 butterfly (1:06.43) and the 200 freestyle relay team (1:52.56) of Carlson, Emma Koeckeritz, Brinn Donais and Chloe Schindler.

The 400 freestyle relay team (4:27.72) of Ashley Swanson, Emily Werner, Alanna Keller and Aisling Cox took third place, as did the 200 medley relay team (2:05.26) of Koeckeritz, Keller, Donais and Carlson.  Koeckeritz took third in the 50 freestyle (28.45) and the 100 backstroke (1:10.14), Addison Nordahl was third in the 50 backstroke (47.75) and Nori Donais placed third in diving (150.25).

Fourth place finishers were Lianna Jepson in the 200 freestyle (2:17.54), Annie Mayer in the 100 IM (1:22.44), Daphnie Nadgwick in the 50 butterfly (37.40), AudrieAnne Nadgwick in the 50 backstroke (48.68), Cox in the 100 backstroke (1:11.71) and Keller in the 100 breaststroke (1:20.79).

Finishing fifth were the 200 medley relay team (2:14.18) of Jepson, Shelby Tabbut, Schindler and Swanson, the 200 freestyle relay team (1:59.12) of Tabbut, Werner, Keller and Jepson, Brinn Donais in the 50 freestyle (28.87), Siiri Smestad in the 50 butterfly (37.53), Raquel Prody in the 50 breaststroke (44.33) and Jepson in the 100 backstroke (1:12.49).

Sixth place went to the 400 freestyle relay team (5:11.63) of Alexandra Brenaman, Daphnie Nadgwick, Emma Swanson and Tess Seay.  Other sixth place finishers were Emily Werner in the 200 freestyle (2:25.24) and the 100 butterfly (1:21.12), Karlie Petersen in the 100 IM (1:24.58), Anna Schroeder in the 50 butterfly (37.90), Seay in the 500 freestyle (7:03.97), Kaylee Papon in the 50 backstroke (52.87), Brinn Donais in the 100 backstroke (1:12.64) and Alaina Bailly in the 50 breaststroke (48.88).
