The Ottertail Central Bulldogs took a 14-0 first quarter lead on the West Central Area/Ashby Knights in the Bulldogs homecoming game on Friday night in Henning, only to see the Knights rally for 14 third quarter points to tie the game.  A thirteen-play, 63-yard scoring drive, which ended with just 1:15 left in the game, carried the Bulldogs to a 22-14 victory and handed the Knights their first loss in five games this season.

OTC went 64 yards in 14 plays on their first possession of the night, to take a 6-0 lead on a one yard run by sophomore quarterback Tanner Arndt with 5:43 left in the opening quarter.  Following a punt by West Central Area/Ashby, OTC went 52 yards in 8 plays with Isaac Fischer running the ball in from the eleven yard line.  Brady VanErp hauled in a two-point conversion pass from Arndt, giving the Bulldogs a 14-0 lead.  The Bulldogs had an impressive 15-play drive that began on their own 23 yard line and was stopped on downs at the Knight 7 in the final minute of the half.

West Central Area/Ashby took the opening kick-off of the second half and covered 66 yards in 10 plays before quarterback Jaden Norby carried the ball into the end zone at 7:06 of the third, cutting the OTC lead to 14-6.  A Norby interception gave the ball back to the Knights and seven plays later, Anthony Sykora scored on a nine-yard run and then ran in the two-point conversion, tying the game at 14-14.

With 1:15 left in the game, Hayden Hart scored on a 7-yard run and OTC added a two-point conversion run by Fischer, putting OTC up 22-14.

The Bulldogs had a very balanced attack.  Tanner Arndt completed 15-of-19 passes for 145 yards and one interception.  Arndt also carried the ball 13 times for 38 yards.  Hart had 39 yards on 10 carries, finding the end zone once, and Brennan Amundson was his favorite receiver, catching 6 passes for 81 yards.  OTC compiled sixteen first downs (7 rushing, 9 passing).
