Rothsay played Ashby in Little Eight Conference volleyball on Thursday night in Ashby. Rothsay won in three (25-9, 25-19, 25-11).

“The Tigers had a great night of volleyball tonight,” stated Rothsay Head Coach Kim Braaten. “We had a goal of playing confident and playing together as a cohesive group. Every single one of our players carried it out tonight whether they saw court time or not. It’s great to get another W, but it feels even better to be able to earn it as a team with good attitudes and efforts. Rothsay controlled the net tonight and made some great plays.”

The Tigers were led by Jayna Gronewald (8 aces, 5 kills, 1 block, 16 assists, 3 digs), Jenna Fabre (4 aces, 8 kills, 1 digs), Kenadi Carlsrud (1 ace, 4 kills, 4 blocks, 6 digs) and Summer Wigdahl (3 aces, 4 kills, 1 block, 5 digs).

“Jenna Fabre, Jayna Gronewald, Summer Wigdahl, and Kenadi Carlsrud really brought the offensive power tonight. With that, we played great defense,” added Coach Braaten. “Madison Tillman and Grace Lider both did a great job of communicating and picking up the Arrows attacks. We left the gym in good spirits and I’m so proud of all the girls for the effort that was put forth and the way they represented the Rothsay Tigers.

Leaders for Ashby were Amelia Barry (5/5 serving, 10 digs, 5 assists), Anissa Heinrich (6/7 serving, 1 ace, 5 kills), Kalista Aamot (6/6 serving, 2 kills, 9 digs), Courtney Koefod (4/6 serving, 1 ace, 3 kills, 9 digs) and Madeline Thompson (5/6 serving, 2 kills, 4 assists).
