Thursday night in Hancock the Owls swept West Central Area in three sets, winning 25-14, 27-25, 25-20.

“It’s difficult to find words for this week’s results,” stated WCA Head Coach Missy Foslien.  “We are struggling to find a consistent line up.  We’ve played well in spurts, but just cannot get the mental edge on a team.  If we could just catch a break and gain our confidence back we could be a totally different team.  There has been great improvement from Lizzie Rustan (2 kills, 1 block) and Brooke Anderson (10 digs, 11/12 serving, 2 aces, 2 kills).  Kaylyn Ulrich (5 kills) has also stepped in and played solid on the outside.”

Other statistical leaders for the Knights were Kaleigh Anderson (12/12 serving, 3 aces, 14 digs), Holly Gilsdorf (8 set assists, 10 digs), Hailey Bennett (7 set assists, 10 digs, 3 kills) and Ellie Herman (4 kills, 1 block).

“We have had a lot of dropped balls and just plain lack of communication which I know we can improve on,” said Foslien.  “We need our fans to support us in the upcoming games versus Wheaton and CGB next week.  Our girls need their confidence back and we hope to always stay positive even through the valleys we face.  This game just wasn’t meant to be, but we are determined to change the results when we see them again.”
