Cardinal Girls Win Rocori CC Invite, Boys Take Fourth

The Alexandria girls cross country team won the Rocori Invitational on Thursday with 42 points.  Second place went to Willmar with 56 and Rocori placed third with 70.  Aleah Miller (19:33.4) led the Cardinals with a third place finish and Caitlin Bright was fifth (19:39.7).

Completing the scoring for the Cardinals were Giselle Jahner (20:03.0) in seventh place, Emma Ecker (20:04.8) in ninth place and Jaelyn Miller (20:31.1) in eighteenth place.

Taelor Dummer (20:50.4) 22nd and Bethany Miller (21:07.2) 26th rounded out the Alexandria varsity runners.

Nina Dawson (19:32.6) of Willmar was the individual champion and Katelyn Motter (19:33.2) of Rocori was runner-up.

Gage Mostad (16:36.5) of Bemidji won the boys race and Evan Myran (16:42.7) of Moorhead was runner-up.

Alexandria was led by Jacob Kleven (17:04.0) in fourth place, Dane Galloway (17:20.6) in eighth place, Brian Denke (18:15.0) in 26th, Joey Carlson (18:22.4) in 31st and Bennett Wirth (18:41.3) in 45th.  Cameron Hochspring (19:14.9) 74th and Joel Brault (19:25.6) 75th rounded out the Cardinal runners.

Willmar won the boys team competition with 37 points and Bemidji was second with 48.  Moorhead took third with 85 and Alexandria was fourth with 114.
