The Fergus Falls girls cross country team was led by a thirteenth place finish by Emily Nuss (20:22.0) on Thursday at the Rocori Invitational.  The Otters were tenth as a team with 268 points.  Alexandria was first with 42, Willmar placed second with 56 and Rocori was third with 70.

“This is the site of the section 8AA meet this year,” said Fergus Falls Head Coach Niki Welde.  “It was good to get out on the course prior to the section date in October. Emily Nuss had a strong performance tonight running a season best time.  The heat was a major factor for our athletes tonight.  We really have not had to battle heat this season until now.”

Sierra Hatlewick (22:20.9) dropped two minutes off her season best time and was the second Otter to cross the finish line, coming in 47th overall.  Completing the team scoring were Karolyn Papon (22:53.7) 59th, Ainsley Hansen (23:24.9) 68th, and Ellia Soydara (24:27.9) 81st.
