Otters Host Tech in CLC Swimming and Diving Meet

St. Cloud Tech traveled to Fergus Falls for a Central Lakes Conference girls swimming and diving meet on Thursday night and the Tigers recorded a 103-81 victory at the Kennedy Pool.

"We had a fantastic meet tonight against St. Cloud Tech with many impressive performances and nice time drops across the board," reported Fergus Falls Head Coach Joyce Monk.  "As a team, we are very proud of their sportsmanship and positive attitudes.  We swam a full lineup of 7-12. A total of 40 swimmers and divers participated.  For many middle schoolers this was the first meet of the season. "

Sophomore Emilie Carlson won the 200 IM (2:23.95) and the 100 butterfly (1:05.59).  Carlson was joined by Emma Koeckeritz, Brinn Donais and Chloe Schindler on the first place 200 freestyle relay team (1:51.23) and also swam on the second place 200 medley relay team (2:04.23) with Koeckeritz, Alanna Keller and Donais.

The 400 freestyle relay team (4:21.76) of Lianna Jepson, Shelby Tabbut, Emily Werner and Aisling Cox placed second.

Keller placed second in the 100 breaststroke (1:19.63), Cox was runner-up in the 100 backstroke (1:09.40) and the 200 freestyle (2:18.47), Donais was second in the 100 freestyle (1:02.80), and Koeckeritz finished second in the 50 freestyle (27.65).

Third place finishers included Schindler in the 200 IM (2:41.61) and 100 butterfly (1:13.37), Donais in the 50 freestyle (28.69) and in Diving (148.50), Tess Seay in the 500 freestyle (7:10.33), and Koeckeritz in the 100 backstroke (1:09.68).  The 200 freestyle relay team (2:00.95) of Keller, Tabbut, Werner and Ashley Swanson also placed third, as did the 200 medley relay team (2:10.99) of Jepson, Cox, Schindler and Swanson.

Finishing in fourth place were Jepson in the 200 freestyle (2:23.73) and 100 backstroke (1:12.27), Werner in the 100 butterfly (1:18.67), and Tabbut in the 100 freestyle (1:06.44).  The 400 freestyle relay team (5:04.49) of Seay, Daphnie Nadgwick, Ava Werner and Karlie Petersen also claimed fourth place.

Ending up fifth were Tabbut in the 100 breaststroke (1:26.48), Werner in the 200 freestyle (2:24.97), and Swanson in the 100 freestyle (1:07.18).
