The West Central Area Knights lost a five set match versus Ortonville on Tuesday night.  The Trojans posted a 25-23, 24-26, 25-22, 11-25, 15-7 victory over the Knights.

“Overall, we just did not play our best volleyball,” stated WCA Head Coach Missy Foslien.  “We had a lot of hitting errors and miscommunication.  We just never were on top of our game tonight.  Kaleigh Anderson played solid defense for us, and Liz Rustan had a nice night attacking out of the middle. Ortonville was very aggressive on the attack and we struggled to block Caitlynn Schellberg out of the middle.  We had too many players having an off game all at once.  We can do better.  Consistency, mental toughness, and team cohesion is what we need going into Thursday’s game against Hancock.  We need to get better at playing together.”

Statistical leaders for the Knights were Kaylyn Ulrich (23/24 serving, 5 aces, 9 digs), Anderson (20/23 serving, 3 aces, 37 digs), Hailey Bennett (13 set assists, 6 kills), Rustan (12 kills, 2 blocks), Brooke Anderson (4 kills) and Holly Gilsdorf (4 set assists).

No Ortonville stats have been reported.
