The Fergus Falls girls’ soccer team traveled to Brainerd on Tuesday night and dropped a Central Lakes Conference contest to the Warriors by the score of 6-1.  Brainerd scored three goals in each half.

The Otters scored midway through the second half after winning three different one-on-one battles and having the ball pop out to Piper Andrews who got a step on the defender and placed the ball into the back of the net.

“Our girls played hard tonight,” said Head Coach Ben Jurgens of the Otters.  “Brainerd is a very deep and talented team.  We were physical and never backed away from any contact.  The girls should have no regrets after this game.  They did their best and we got better tonight.  Svea Smestad played an outstanding game, making difficult saves look routine and coming out of the net to take care of thru balls.”
