On Tuesday night the Otter girls' tennis team hosted Sartell in their parent night/senior night home dual.  It was a great night of tennis for the Otters as they posted a 5-2 win over the Sartell Sabres.

“Tonight was a great night for our program,” said Fergus Falls Head Coach Jamie Lill.  “We had some amazing tennis, a big win for our team, and the support of a large fan base for our big night.  We were able to celebrate our five exemplary seniors: Elizabeth Houge, Olivia Kaliher, Elissa Lee, Carlie Meis, and Takaira Wynn-Sheldon.  These girls are leaders on and off the court and represent our team, our sport and our school so well.”

Sartell took their victories in the second singles and doubles slots, with the Otters snagging both first singles and doubles in decisive third sets.  “Kaliher and Meis really played a smart match at first doubles,” reported Lill.  “The girls have slumped a bit as of late, but really put together a nice match tonight.  They were focused and intent upon finishing.”

Amber Anderson and Ava Weber also picked up wins at third and fourth singles.  “Amber and Ava have been working their tails off for us and tonight was a great night for them to be rewarded for their hard work and determination to keep at it,” said Lill.

The third doubles duo of Houge and Mia Marsh pulled off a tight two-setter, taking the match 6-3, 7-5.

“Our JV and middle school players also had some great wins all the way down the roster,” added Lill. “Tonight was a great night for Otter tennis.”
