Perham Girls Sweep Fergus Falls in Tennis Match

The Fergus Falls tennis team traveled to Perham on Monday where they dropped a 7-0 decision to the Yellowjackets.

The closest match came at the very top of the lineup with Ellie Colbeck losing a nail biter 13-11 in a third set tiebreaker to Jade Lenis.  Lenis won the first set 6-4 and Colbeck took the second set 5-7.

Kiera Radniecki swept Leila Nasri 6-1, 6-3 at second singles, Avery Beachy was a 6-0, 6-2 winner over Amber Anderson at third singles, and Mallory Belka defeated Ava Weber 6-1, 6-1 at fourth singles.

At first doubles, Mirta Vorderbruggen and Malia Groff defeated Carlie Meis and Olivia Kaliher 6-2, 7-5.  Perham’s second doubles team of Jojo Winkels and Kendra Moris beat Elissa Lee and Mackenzie Krava 6-1, 6-1.  The Yellowjackets third doubles team of Vonnie Lindberg and Maggie Trites recorded a 6-3, 6-1 win over Elizabeth Houge and Mia Marsh of the Otters.

The Otters have a home stretch this week with matches in Fergus Falls on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.  Their Tuesday match is a parent night/senior night matchup with Sartell, beginning at 4:30pm.
