The Frazee football team pulled out a 27-20 victory over New York Mills on Friday night.

“A tough game to lose to Frazee,” stated New York Mills Head Coach Matt Radniecki.  “We had chances once again and a few plays turning in our favor and we get a win.  We were able to move the ball in the air in the second half and really got going.  In the first half turnovers really hurt us and we just couldn’t sustain or get anything going.  Frazee scored with 3 seconds to go in the half to go up 7-0.  In the second half we were able to move the ball in the air mixing in some runs.  Bren Salo did a nice job and our receivers were making some good runs after the catch to create some big plays.  A big play was Frazee and their goal line stand early in the fourth quarter.  We had first and goal but just couldn’t punch it in.  To our credit we came back and recovered our third on side kick and had a chance at the end.  A few big plays and turnovers really hurt us in this game.”

Salo completed 11-of-22 passes for 171 yards and a pair of touchdowns.  Jonah Johnson (6 catches, 96 yards) and Logan Small (2 catches, 54 yards) caught the TD passes.  Salo was the leading rusher with 98 yards on 15 carries and one touchdown.  Daunte Leiran ran for 55 yards on 14 rushing attempts.

Defensive leaders were Elliot Mann (3 solo tackles, 5 assists), Small (2 solo tackles, 4 assists), Salo (3 solo tackles, 3 assists) and Presten Newborg (2 solo tackles, 4 assists, 1 fumble recovery.  Dane Niemi was in on five tackles and also recovered a fumble.  Gabe Geiser had 5 tackles and an interception.
