Underwood defeated Parkers Prairie 3-0 (25-22, 26-24, 25-19) in a Little Eight Conference road contest on Thursday night.

“We got off to a really slow start and fell behind 0-5 in set 1, but quickly regrouped behind Reese Richards serving 8 straight points,” reported Underwood Head Coach Diane Ross.  “It was back and forth scoring the rest of the set. Our middle hitters Ally Johnson and Shaynah Smith did a good job of finding the open court.  In set 2 we were down 20-24, and scored the next 6 points for the win. Amber Frigaard did a good job of serving and Ally Johnson scored 3 kills in that run with Kayla Rocholl scoring point 25 and Brooke Hovland putting the ball away on set point.   Lydia Baker started us out with a great serving run in set 3. With the score 3-2, she served the next 8 points giving us an 11-3 point lead.   I was really happy with our ball control tonight, I thought we took care of the things we can control.   Josey Bugbee came through with some big kills and the right time tonight and ended with 10 kills and an ace block.”

Kayla Rocholl served 13-13 with 4 aces, added 6 kills and 14 digs. Ally Johnson ended with 10 kills and 4 ace blocks, Brooke Hovland added 7 kills, 7 digs, 2 ace blocks and served 7-7 with 1 ace. Shaynah Smith has 7 kills and 1 ace block, Lydia Baker served 14-14 with 2 aces, Brianna Evavold added 10 digs, Reese Richards had 38 assists along with 8 digs and 2 ace serves.

The Rockets are 3-0 in the conference, 6-3 overall.  They will face Barnesville on Tuesday.
