The Fergus Falls girls’ traveled to Sartell on Thursday for a Central Lakes Conference match which the Sabres won by the score of 4-2.

Three minutes into the game Anna Anderson scored on a Penalty Kick to give the Otters a 1-0 lead.  Sartell managed to score a pair of goals in the first half to take a 2-1 halftime lead.

Sartell scored the first two goals of the second half, making the score 4-1, and the Otters closed out the scoring when Piper Andrews scored on a run up the right side with just two seconds remaining.

“We came out flat and continued to play flat the entire game,” said Fergus Falls Head Coach Ben Jurgens.  “Nobody was more disappointed in the effort put forth tonight than the girls themselves.  They recognized it, they addressed the issue after the game and as a coaching staff we won’t see that effort again.  Teams have hiccups and unfortunately tonight we had one.  We will bounce back with a better effort Tuesday against Brainerd.”
