Yaggie Has Big Offensive Days as Cowboys Shut Down Roseau

The Breckenridge Cowboys held Roseau to 28 rushing yards, 85 total yards and 7 first downs on Friday in their 39-0 home field victory over the Rams.

After a scoreless first quarter, Breckenridge scored 14 second quarter points on a 3-yard run by Jack Aigner and an 8-yard TD pass from Cooper Yaggie to Tyson Piechowski.  Yaggie booted a pair of extra points.

The Cowboys added a third quarter TD on a 4-yard pass from Yaggie to Piechowski and Yaggie was successful on another extra point kick, putting the score at 21-0.

In the fourth quarter, Yaggie connected with Aigner on a 38 yard touchdown pass, Emmit Vig carried the ball in from the 16 and James Mertes raced 86 yards for the final TD.

Breckenridge compiled 453 total yards, including 306 rushing yards.  They also had18 first downs in the game.

Yaggie completed 8-of-11 passes for 150 yards and 3 TDs.  Mertes (3 carries, 98 yards) and Daniel Erlandson (15 carries, 97 yards) were the rushing leaders.  Piechowski hauled in 4 passes for 41 yards and Jace Jensen caught two balls for 52 yards.

The Cowboys had four interceptions in the game, two of them from Sebastian Anderson and the others from Yaggie and Carson Hought.  Aigner and Connor Twidwell combined for a sack.
