The annual Pot O’ Gold and Labor Day Classic Golf Tournaments were held over the weekend at Pebble Lake Golf Course in Fergus Falls.

The team of John Ouren and Tim Lill defeated the team of Lucas Gervais and Kelly Longtin to win the Pot O’ Gold title, while Wade Jyrkas and Chuck MacFarlane beat Kyle Rohlfs and Travis Johnson in the Pot O’ Gold Consolation finals.

The Labor Day Classic title was won by Adam Heifort and Dan Madsen, beating Travis Martinson and Scott Molnar.  Consolation championship honors went to Glenn Anderson and Snook Harworth, with a win over Josh Longtin and Jerry Ness.

In the Nuggets Division the duo of Adam Kennedy and Henry Greenagel took the championship and the team of Quinton Kuehl and Davis Shol were runners-up.

“The Nuggets is a juniors division for youth to qualify and play match play to hone their mental and physical skills in a tournament setting with spectators,” commented Club Pro Kevin Swenson. “It started 3 years ago with 4 players, last year we had 8 players – this year we had 16 players ages 12 – 16 years. They had a blast with qualifying 9 holes stroke play on Saturday. Paired by score, they played two 9-hole matches on Sunday and completed the tournament with a 9-hole championship match on Sunday. All 16 competed to place from 1st to 8th! The kids had the largest spectator following all weekend and were awesome. The future of PLGC is growing through the youth and support of our membership to make the course inviting and very accessible for them to play and now they are invited to play every year in the prestigious POG /LDC tournament. Very cool thing.”
